BASHY - FANTASY

He is BACK.. after taking a step back to work on a few films including '4.3.2.1' and his second album (titled TBC) This is definitely a long awaited track (for me at least!) Using Baby D's classic 'Let Me Be Your Fantasy', Bashy has made a track that will be rinsed all summer, I can picture it already (reeeewiiind!) !! The track is expected to be released roundabout the time he does his first official gig @ o2 Islington in early September... Its been a minute... Welcome back!

Lowkey- Chimpunk Diss

Can I start with..."looooooooooool".... I never thought Lowkey would ever go on this tip, but i guess he felt strongly enough to do it. Known for his political lyrics and speeches this was definitely not expected. Some people have commented on how Lowkey should have never sunk to this level..but in his defense... he is allowed to just kill someone lyrically for the fun of it... it certainly had me LOL throughout the entire track! Big track! Don't get me wrong, Chimpmunk has done good for himself but for everytime I've seen him, he seems very up himself.. soo I guess Lowkey was simply "grounding" him! Ima attach the lyrics coz its tooo funny and gonna highlight my fave lyrics......." "pregnant head!!!" (ROTFL) You are not the grime scene saviour

Lowkey- The Alyona Show (Flotilla)

When I first saw this I was like "huh?"... Then it just made it clear how powerful an unsigned rapper can be using his voice as his only weapon/defense.

Lowkey is known for attending numerous protests and talks, standing out and standing strong as the Voice of the public. Also known as Kareem Dennis, Lowkey is not just a rapper, hes a poet, a political activist and a Representative of many souls worldwide.

I think this interview has show how far Lowkey has grown as an artist and a person.

"Israel is a terrorist state and now a pirate state."

His words are powerful.. he speaks with confidence and his knowledge is detailed. He isn't just an excited rapper on a hype.. hes a powerful rapper with a lot to say, enough to capture the attention of international waters while risking himself for naming names and speaking the truth.

I can't say it enough.. but Lowkey is truly the Voice of the Voiceless... Well done Brother!

The long awaited mixtape was finally released at the end of April of this year. ElektRemixed Album is mixtape that DJ RNS has been working on for over 4 months. If you've heard all his other mixes then this is like none other you've heard before.

DJ RNS (AKA Manotti de Vinci) has stepped out his comfort zone and has experimented with electronica/house music. With the use of some hip hop tracks this mixtape definitely holds a unique flavor and sound.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of electronica or house music but he gets my vote on this mixtape.

Mos Def Aftermath!

I turned up at Shepherds Bush Empire just before 6pm... 5:54pm... First in the Queue! (first time EVER!!) Its Mos Def!.. Definitely worth the wait!! .. Obviously all my people where running late.. running on African/Arabic timing! Cha!


Got into the venue.. seated my Tushy in the Balcony section. This section was the closest one can get to Mos Def on Level one!


DJ was on point and the supporting act where really cool. Sadly like most artist Mos Def was running......LATE!!! 10Pm he comes out! .. Begins with Super Magic from his latest album- The Ecstatic!

He mainly sang tracks from The Ecstatic.. I was sooo glad he did my favorite track off the album "Auditorium (feat. Slick Rick)" ... I Heart this track A LOT!! Lyrics.. concept, beat and SLICK RIIIIIIIICK!

Mos Def explained to the audience that he is not longer on a record label and that he is planning to start his own so he will deliever his music personally. He then Went on to sing "His last EVER Heartbreak song".. TAXI.. This was the highlight of the night (b4 meeting him in person of course):

During the performance a girl in the crowd who was very drunk kept pushing into girls wearing Hijab, Mos Def immediately got concerned and asked the girl to

Later on I saw the girls who got pushed around and Mos Def took them backstage and thanked them and apologized for the girls behavior!! (Owwwwwww!)

He ended the night with "Umi Says"..A classic that everyone can sing along to!


Mos Def showed how humbled he was to be amongst his UK fans! He kept thanking us for coming and on a number of occasions gave shout outs to his Muslim Sisters (Pow!!!!!)


After he sang his final track he unplugged the mic and the DJ played outro tracks and Mos Def began handing out roses to the audience! If only I was on the ground floor! (Darn it!)


He then began to mime the songs being played by the DJ and dancing!


This was such a unique experience! It was a blessing to be part of it!


Lucky for meeeee and my EarthAngel, we met Mos Def at the end of the show!! WOOOOHOO! Its still very Surreal!


I am OFFICIALLY IN LOVE WITH MOS DEF! Jheeez!!

A friend of mine went to see Mos Def on Tuesday and told me it was amazing, so thats more reason to get excited.

what to wear? hmmm!! Do I got for my old school Retro look? Girly look (haaa..me girly?) or "can't be bothered" look? :S
